Katelyn and Brandon are getting married in April and I couldn't be looking forward to their wedding day more!  The spring is such a beautiful season with it's blooming flowers and new beginnings! With the anticipation of their wedding quickly approaching, I'm very excited to share their fall engagement session!

Katelyn and Brandon, I've loved getting to know you two and your families better over the past few months, I'm so glad Andy and Ryan sent you my way!  You two are a perfect pair, which was totally evident during your shoot and even more so as you answered the questions below!  I'm so glad each of you found such a perfect match in the other.

  • How did you two meet? Give us the dirty details! Who, what, when, where, and why?

Brandon was a senior at Mater Dei when I was a freshman. He was in the same class with my brother and my cousin. Him and my cousin were best buds, so Brandon was always hanging around the family. I always thought he was so cute, but I was always dating the WRONG guy. I finally listened to everyone and ditched the loser boyfriend. A month later was my 21st birthday and I texted my cousin to come and to bring his cute single friends :) They were at a wedding but stopped by afterwards. I got butterflies when I saw Brandon walk in wearing black dress pants, black dress shirt, a white tie, and HIDEOUS white shoes. I still thought he was pretty cute though. Later on in the night Brandon was talking to my dad, and my cousin decided someone needed to embarrass Brandon. With a little liquid courage I went up and kissed Brandon on the cheek, right in front of my dad. He was so embarrassed, he looked at my dad and just walked off. I looked for any excuse to talk to him the next day, so I decided to message him on Facebook to apologize. That's where it all began!

  • When did you know they were the one? Was there a specific moment or something specific they did?

When he introduced me to his dog Brandy. KIDDING! I knew pretty early on that he was the one. I don't recall there being a specific moment. Brandon fit perfectly in our family, and I fell in love with his the moment I met them. From the get go Brandon showed me what it felt like to be treated like a princess (which I lacked in every relationship before). He possess' all of the qualities I ever wanted in my future husband. It was an ongoing growing love that I had from Brandon, that just kept reassuring me that he was the one that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with! AND I mean common' he left me an unopened piece of gum stuck to a paper with a BAND-AID that said hope you have a great day--- who wouldn't marry someone like that?!

  • Tell us about the proposal! Did you see it coming? How long were you planning it? How did you feel? Nervous? Excited? Freaking out?!

THE MOST PERFECT FAIRYTALE PROPOSAL EVER! January of 2015 we took a family trip to Colorado with my family to go snow skiing. It was January 7th we got up, got dressed and off to do another day of skiing. everything was normal. I had no idea that night I was going to be the happiest girl on the planet. We skied all day and finally headed in to the condo to get ready for a dinner we had reservations for. We were picked up by a shuttle and taken about 30 minutes to Saddleback Ranch were we then took a horse drawn sleigh ride through an 8,000 acre ranch to a beautiful cabin for a steak dinner. The guide pulled up to the cabin and said kiss the horses goodnight, they will not be taking you home. So we all hoped off and my mom of course wanted a family picture in front of the horses. after we took a family picture Brandon asked if I wanted one with just him and I.... He HATES pictures, but of course I didn't think anything of it. So my dad took a picture of the two of us and then Brandon turned to me and said "one more thing" and he unzipped a hidden zipper in his jacket, pulled out a box, got on one knee and said, "will you marry me?" Of course I started crying immediately, and all I could hear in the background was my mom bawling her eyes out asking if he really said that. I was completely shocked I couldn't even talk. Brandon even had to ask me if that was a yes. We went inside where I finally got to see the ring. it was perfect!!!! I was shaking the rest of the night from excitement. The owner of the ranch heard about the engagement and popped a bottle of champagne for us. It was seriously the best night of my life.

  • What is one thing you love most about each other?

That our fights only last a maximum of 3 minutes tops we can't ever stay mad at each other. and of course that he loves me for me even after seeing me at my absolute worst, and absolute best. He pushes me to do things out of my comfort zone!
