Wedding Wednesday | Why a First look?
Shhh... I'm going to recommend something that might not be so popular with your mother. I want to walk you through three perfect reasons I suggest doing a first look before your wedding ceremony.
Let's face it: weddings can be hectic. A first look gives you more quality time with your person on your most important day before all the hustle and bustle begins. Although I’m there to document the excitement and emotion of the first moment when you see each other, I always make it a priority to have a little extra time allotted for my couples to spend uninterrupted time together. It also means actually being able to hear him say how beautiful you look and not having to wait until the ceremony is over. Win!
Additionally, a first look allows an opportunity to capture beautiful natural light images and more of them! Trust me: for a natural light photographer like me, that's key to giving my brides the beautiful images they dream about. You're investing a lot into your wedding photography coverage, I want to give you as many pictures of the two of you as I can for that investment. These are the images you'll use to decorate your home, I know the importance!
Another great advantage of a first look is getting to enjoy your cocktail hour and the majority of your reception with your guests! Everyone special in your life is so incredibly happy for you, and they naturally want to share in the joy of your big day with you. With a first look, most of your images with your significant other and bridal party will be taken prior to the wedding. That, in turn, frees up your time to get that glass of wine you know you deserve and let loose on the dance floor!
Wedding days fly by in a flash so soak up every fun and adoring second, but make sure to carve out as much time for the two of you as possible!
