Jamie and Jason Wedding | Evansville Indiana Photographer

I've been so excited to share Jamie and Jason's wedding!  Jamie reveled in the details of planning for her wedding; throughout the process whether it was picking out the perfect cake or adding the little owls nestled in the flower arrangements - she enjoyed it all! Now, Jamie has begun planning others' dream day with her new business, Wonderstruck Weddings and Special Events!

I am so excited to see what's next for the Elliots! It has been a pleasure to get to know you both and I wish you the best!  Your wedding was an absolute dream! I loved how fun and charismatic you both were and your reception venue at 20 West really allowed that side of you to shine!

  • Why did you choose your ceremony venue?:

I chose to get married at Newburgh United Methodist Church because it is the church I grew up in. I went to Pre-School there, got baptized there, went through Confirmation and had my first communion there. It holds a lot of fond memories!

  • Florist:

    Barbara's Bloomers

  • Describe the flowers used for the floral arrangements:

We used a lot or deep purples and bright greens. I wanted everything to look more "wild and natural". My bouquet was free and easy! It made succulents and some that even looked like weeds. It was exactly what I wanted! The centerpieces used ivy and purple flowers. Some had birds nests in them and some had little brass owls nestled in there (I love owls!). They were truly personalized and we spent a lot of time perfecting them!

  • Cake:

    Piece of Cake

  • What was the inspiration for your wedding cake?:

Elegant and rustic with a touch of personality! Again, I wanted it to look "natural". I don't like basic cakes that you see all the time. I didn't want it to scream "wedding cake". My cake looked like a birch tree trunk with an adorable custom made owl cake topper. The topper was an owl couple with top hat and a veil on. My dad made a thick wood slab to be used as the base. He made it out of a large tree trunk that fell in his backyard during a storm. He cut the slab and sanded it to death! It weighed over 10 pounds and looked fantastic!

  • Dècor:

My mom and I did all the decor ourselves (besides the flowers). We purchased lanterns, candles, etc from various places

  • Why did you choose your reception venue?:

20 West's eclectic vibe matched Jason and I's style and personalities perfectly! I first toured 20 West when it was still in the construction phase...and I knew from the second I walked in that it was the perfect venue for us. Despite the ladders and paint cans it was absolutely beautiful. The vintage elegance the artwork, furniture and courtyard had were breathtaking. I actually felt as though the space was made for us!
