When you know, you know! : The Sand Dollar Estate | Alisha Sims Photography

Once we determined St. Thomas was the place for our wedding, first up on my agenda was securing a venue.  Each year when we come to St. Thomas we stay at Frenchman’s Cove, so we heavily debated getting married there, but we really wanted a more intimate setting that didn’t include sharing our guests with a hotel full of other people. We only get to see most of these people once a year! As I feverishly searched I found Sand Dollar Estate on Home Away and I fell in love. 

And true to our nature, I was ready and sure this was it well before my responsible counterpart. Where I sometimes base decisions on that perfect feeling (sometimes when you know you just know) Dakota’s sensible and beautifully studious; a practical decision maker. In my opinion these qualities make us the perfect team even if most of the time he’s teaching my extreme patience and I’m working to help him find some passion.  

With three separate houses on the property it allows everyone to be together but still allowing for proper distance for privacy and alone time.  As we toured the property it exceeded all expectation. Decks on decks, space on space and the view…. it literally gives my stomach butterflies.  We're over the moon excited to share our favorite vacation spot with all our favorite people.

With Dakota everything falls perfectly into place as we stood in the surprise tropical shower and took in the view, all my wedding stress washed away with the rain.  And I knew that trusting that perfect feeling would never let me down.
