Sendy and Sam Engagement Session | Evansville Indiana Photographer
Sendy and Sam are the dream duo. They make each other better! The best word I could use to describe them is fun.. and I mean that in the truest form of the word. Photographing them was full of side splitting giggles and sheer admiration of wishing I was half that cool.
Sendy and Sam, thank you for making what I do so rewarding, I’m honored to photograph your love story. Your respect and love for each other is beautiful. Congratulations on all the exciting things that are going on in your life! I can’t wait for your wedding!
- How did you two meet? Give us the dirty details! Who, what, when, where, and why?
We met at the University of Evansville, where we both attended college. The first time we hung out, a mutual friend forced us into this weird awkward hug. Which at the time was mortifying.. but about .3 seconds into it... all I could think about was "heyyyyyy muscles!" It didn't seem so bad after all :) The first actual date-like thing we did was go to his fraternity Halloween date party. I went as Pocahontas and he went as John Smith. Hahaha, I laugh even thinking about it.
- When did you know they were the one? Was there a specific moment or something specific they did?
Sendy: I think I realized he was the one when Christmas break rolled around and I was heading back up north to visit family. Before I left, he checked my car fluids and everything to make sure I would have a safe 5.5 hour journey. It was freezing outside but he didn't even complain. For some reason that made my heart smile and I knew he was a keeper :) -- Sam: To be honest, I think I've always known Sendy was the one for me. From the very first day, I fell in love with her smile and how her heart feels for every living person and creature. I've never been able to (or wanted to) picture a future without her in my life, and I look forward to every day I get to spend with her.
- What is one thing you love most about each other?
Sendy: I love that he just gets me. With one look he can tell what's on my mind. I can be my goofy, carefree self around him. I also love how he is always up for an adventure! --- Sam: One thing that I absolutely love about Sendy is how she is constantly thinking about others and their happiness. This makes her an amazing friend, co-worker, family member, and fiance. Her mind is always thinking about how to make other people's days better, and I love seeing how this brings joy to both her and others.
- Tell us about the proposal! Did you see it coming? How long were you planning it? How did you feel? Nervous? Excited? Freaking out?!
He proposed in the rose garden while we were touring the West Baden Hotel. We took my sister to visit French Lick since she have never been before. I knew that it would happen soon but not that day! It was sooo sooo soo hot outside and I didn't understand why they wanted to go outside. I was told that we would get food soon so that was all that was on my mind. I think he could tell that I was getting "hangry", so he got me an ice cream cone to appease me for the time being. I am pretty sure that when he actually proposed I had melted ice cream running down the front of my dress. Once it happened the only words that would come out were "shut up, right now!?" I was so excited!
- If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.
Sendy: Sam will have full on "meow" conversations with our cats. He will ask them how they are doing or what they have been up to and as long as he gets a meow out of them... the conversation keeps going. Sometimes the conversation can last a few seconds or a few minutes. -- Sam: Every time Sendy gets excited or happy, she does a little "happy dance." The dances are always similar but never the same, and I always end up smiling while I watch her.
What do you want to remember about you two right now?
Our sense of adventure and sense of humor. After 5 years, we still are just as in love as we were at the very beginning.
